Logos are one part of a greater brand identity. Their usage has guidelines which are designed to protect the integrity of the mark and ultimately trust in the brand.
It is therefore important to consider where, when, and how often a brand logo is used. It can help build trust with a consumer when using an application or webpage, and specifically in digital depending on the location (usually at the top left) and can be a recognised affordance for the application’s home.
Visual design
Each logo in the library has been carefully crafted (where possible aligning with the pixel grid), optimised and converted to SVG format, which:
- Ensures that the graphic can be resized to any dimension with no loss of quality
- Ensures the highest quality rendering on all devices
- Allows the logos to be styled using code
- Complies with AA accessibility requirements
Multi-brand usage
The multi-brand logos have been designed and crafted to ensure that applications can switch brands with no additional work required to scale or position the logo. The entire process has been automated, this not only saves time but also removes any margin for error thus increasing the consistency and quality of our products, and also ensures correct usage (scale, position etc) at all breakpoints.
Dos and don’ts
- Do use the logos (in accordance with the brand guidelines) in bespoke landing screens etc.
- Avoid changing the logos (colour, shape etc).
- Avoid scaling or repositioning logos in the pre-defined header and footer components.
- Avoid using png or jpeg versions of these logos as quality may be compromised when displayed on high resolution displays etc.
